SEWAS holds many events throughout the year for people at every stage of the adoption process.

Types of events include information evenings or training for potential adopters, training for adopters and their loved ones, as well as fun days for adopted families.

Each event is led by our staff and can be in our office, another training location or outdoors.

Our information events are open to anyone who wants to learn more about adoption, we ask you to book onto the event before attending.

For more information, contact our team or sign up to our mailing list.

Information Events

We regularly run information events for people that want to find out more about adoption. We encourage anyone that is thinking about adoption – whether you are still at the early stages of thinking about it or have made a definite decision adoption is right for you – to come along.

There is a short presentation and then the opportunity, if you want to, to talk to a trained member of staff one-to-one about your individual circumstances.

If you would like to attend please email or phone to confirm your space and times of the event will be provided. Our information events for 2024 are:

  • Tuesday 23rd January 6pm
  • Saturday 9th March 10am
  • Thursday 23rd May 6pm
  • Saturday 13th July 10am
  • Thursday 12th September 6pm
  • Saturday 2nd November 10am

Family Fun Days

Our family fun days happen throughout the year. It’s a chance for our adoptive families to meet other people who have also been through the adoption process.

We put on lots of activities for children of all ages. For more information, please contact the adoption support team.

Adoption Support

We also run adoption support events. These events run throughout the year and give adopters, along with friends and families the chance to learn more after the initial training. These events are designed to give you the tools and techniques you may need for raising a child. For more information on events/training topics, please contact the adoption support team.
