Your data and what we do with it
When you make contact with the National Adoption Service (NAS), we will generally ask you for your full name, telephone number and contact details (email address, home address or both). You will also directly
supply information when you submit a form for making an enquiry or using/viewing our website via your
browser’s cookies.
The NAS is a collaborative organisation made up of local authorities through five regional adoption
services and three Voluntary Adoption Agencies (VAAs) plus a central team that leads and co-ordinates the work. As such we work together and share information where that is necessary to provide you with a good service. This does not happen often, but information linked to the below may be shared from where there is a need in order to assist with:
• Enquiries
• Dissatisfaction or complaints
• Performance reports
• Marketing
• Other service queries and advice
In doing this, the NAS understands the importance of respecting your confidentiality and rights around data protection. Personal information will only be shared where it is necessary and in line with our service and legal obligations. The service works within the Welsh Government Standards in respect of information

The National Adoption Service may also from time to time send you information we think you will find
useful. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date. You have the right
at any time to stop the National Adoption Service from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to our partners.
